Myths and Fairytales, 2002Luther Burbank Elementary School—San Jose, CA
Description: This art fence replaced a chain-link fence and transformed the Luther Burbank campus. While the primary function of the fence is security, it also provides a playful face for the school and its community. Each grade level chose a story to illustrate such as The Three Little Pigs, and The Tortoise and The Hare. The drawings were combined with images of plant life, composed into separate panels, and then translated into steel.
