Nature’s Bounty, 2002Trace Elementary School—San Jose, CA
Description: This tile project graces the planter box seating at Trace Elementary, was inspired by the school garden project. Seven biomes are represented in the painted images created by students and teachers: Colonial Garden, California Regional, Flower Garden, Wildflower, Redwood, Yucca, and California Black Oak. The color-coded tiles are interspersed with a running vine motif that unifies the design. This project was sponsored by the Trace Home and School Club as a way to involve the students in a campus beautification project.
